Dial Acne Control Face and Body Wash Review

When it comes to my skin, I can be somewhat picky as far as what products I put on it. However, I’m also always willing to try out new brands and products, which is why I was excited for the opportunity to try out Dial’s Acne Control face and body wash.

At the moment I have the definition of combination skin. Halfway through the day I am plagued with oily, shiny skin, but I also have prominent dry patches on my forehead and down the bridge of my nose. I have always struggled with finding a skin care solution that takes care of both the dryness and the oil, as most products are geared toward one condition and one condition only. This is no good, as products for oily skin tend to dry out my already dry areas, and products for dry skin over saturate my already oily areas. I was pleased to learn that Dial’s products were oil-free. I’ve found that products containing oil do nothing for my skin but clog my pores. Even though I can be somewhat dry, oil-based cleansers still clog my pores and cause me to breakout. I was met with mixed thoughts over the fact that the products contained salicylic acid. As a teenager, when my skin was predominately oily and more prone to acne breakouts, I used a lot of salicylic acid products to clear up my skin. It always worked for me because it dried out my problem areas, but I was worried that it would make my dry spots extra dry and scaly.

I was pleased to find that this cleanser was gentle enough to not further dry out my skin, yet effective enough to help clear up the little breakouts I get here and there. One of the first things I noticed was the fragrance. It was a clean, light, pleasant smell. This was definitely a plus for the body wash, but made me concerned about the face wash. My face is more on the sensitive side, and in the past I’ve become irritated by heavily-perfumed face washes. Luckily this was not the case with Dial Acne Control face wash.

As far as the acne control aspect, even though I would classify it as a gentle cleanser, it definitely helped clear up the small breakouts I regularly get within a couple of days. I can’t say with confidence that it did too much to prevent pimples and zits from occurring, but it certainly nipped them in the butt after they started to appear.

When I used acne treatments in the past, they were solely for acne-prone periods. I would use them during the onset of breakouts and during, until they were cleared up. Once I felt my skin was clear I would switch back to my regular skin regimen. This was because of how drying those products were. Dial Acne Control, however, I wouldn’t think twice about using twice a day. I can’t stress enough how gentle this cleanser was, and in a good way. And the scent is a major plus, as most face washes I use are unscented due to the fact that the fragrances used tend to irritate my skin.

As far as repurchasing this product, I don’t know that I’ll necessarily grab this one each time I’m in need for a new face wash, but it will definitely be in the circle of products I rotate. It definitely reacts well on my skin and for the price there’s no denying it’s a great deal. As far as the body wash, I really enjoyed using it, but I don’t have a lot of issues with body acne, and therefore I don’t personally see the need for an acne control body wash.

Note: I am a member of BzzAgent and was able to try this product for free in return for my honest opinion.

June 26th- Close-Up & A Guilty Pleasure

Oh, hi there, multi-colored eyes! I’ve been so boring with my make-up lately, mostly due to laziness, and truth be told, I miss having fun with my make-up. I just might have to play with my eyes next time I’m bored rather than sit on my ass and play Draw Something, lol.

A Guilty Pleasure:

I know I’ve mentioned this several times on here over the past few days already, but I am obsessed with watching Nip/Tuck so it’s my current guilty pleasure. I’m almost done with season 5, and there’s only 6 seasons, so pretty soon I’m going to have to find something new to watch every night. 😦 I will miss you, Dr. Christian Troy. Any suggestions? Preferably something on Netflix…

June 25th- Something Pink & Your Day (In Great Detail)

OK, I swear every time I need a picture of a certain color I always post nail polish, lol. I can’t help it, though. It’s easy and a lot of my nail polishes are sitting on my desk so they’re the first thing I see when I start looking around for something. This is China Glaze’s Flip Flop Fantasy. It’s a neon coral polish and I absolutely love it! I seriously wear it about 75% of the time I wear nail polish, especially now that it’s summer. I know it’s not totally pink, but coral is a variation of pink, at least. πŸ™‚

Your Day (In Great Detail):

Well, it’s only 1:30 pm so there’s not much to say. Although, in all seriousness, there probably won’t be much to tell at the end of the day, either. I woke up, made coffee, drank coffee, fed Tyler, and pretty much sat here in front of the computer. Jon’s at work all day, so I’ll probably see him for an hour or so when he stops by after work around 9-9:30pm. I’m excited for dinner, though. I’m making pork chops, garlic mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. I’m usually not big on pork- I mean I’ll eat it, but it’s usually not something I’d go for on my own- but our grocery store was having an amazing sale that I couldn’t pass up. We got 6 pork chops of decent size and quality for under $5! Yesterday my mom took Tyler to her work picnic, so I made one of the pork chops for dinner since I was on my own. All I did was rub on some of the dry steak seasoning we had and threw it on the grill and it was SO GOOD! So yeah, dinner is going to be the highlight of my day, lol. That, and watching several episodes of Nip/Tuck on Netflix. That show is my new addiction. I’m going to be so sad after the last season, since it’s not on the air anymore. I have the tendency to get into shows after they’ve been cancelled, or right before they’ve been cancelled. 😦

June 23rd- Sun Flare & A YouTube Video

Yet another randomly themed picture that I had to turn to Google for, haha. That’s really all I have to say about this… it’s a sun flare… can’t say I ever took a picture of the sun on purpose.

A YouTube Video:

This is a video tutorial of a girl transforming herself into Angelina Jolie using just make-up, a wig, and colored contacts. It’s pretty freaking amazing, if I do say so myself. I can’t help but be in awe every time I watch it. It’s that good. She also has a ton of other great make-up tutorials, and other celebrity transformations!

June 19th- Something Orange & A Personal Talent

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Polish in “Sun Kissed.” This is my go-to orange nail polish for the summer! It’s bright, super inexpensive, and doesn’t take more than 2 or 3 coats. Love it!

A Personal Talent:

I suppose I’m better than most at creating digital portraits and drawings using Adobe Illustrator, so I’m considering it a talent. πŸ˜› This is the last picture I finished, of my beloved Britney, of course. Check out some of my older ones (ranging back to, say, 2005?) on my Deviant Art account. I haven’t really been in the mood or inspired to draw in the past several months, but I do miss it. I have another portrait of Brit Brit that’s about 1/2 way finished, but considering drawing is just a hobby for me, I’m not going to force myself to finish it if the passion and fun just isn’t there at the moment. If I were getting paid, however… that’s a whole other story, and I would be a happy, happy girl, lol.

June 14th- Eyes & A Non-Fictional Book

I’m always taking pictures of my eyes. They’re my favorite part on me! And I love taking pictures of my make-up, too. πŸ™‚

A Non-Fictional Book:

“Sliding Into Home” is Kendra Wilkinson’s autobiography. I don’t really know what possessed me to read this book. I’ve always enjoyed watching her on The Girls Next Door, and anyone that dates Hugh Hefner is bound to have somewhat of an interesting story, past and present, but it was still on a total whim that I picked up this book. It was good, though. She really had a troubled past and overcame it to become successful! Gotta give props to that!

June 12th- Sunset & Favorite Photo of Yourself

There is no prettier sunsets than a tropical sunset at the beach. ❀ πŸ™‚ So gorgeous! I wish I was there right now.

Favorite Photo of Yourself:

OK, so currently my favorite picture of myself is the little one that’s over in the side menu. At least that’s the one that I have as my Facebook picture 90% of the time, lol. I just like my make-up and the green contacts I’m wearing look awesome with my purple eye shadow! But I decided to find another one so I wasn’t posting anymore repeats, since that’s just boring. In this picture I was 20 or 21, I believe. I love the bright sky blue and lime green eye shadow, hot pink lipstick, the fact that my face doesn’t look bloated, my skin appears to be clear, and holy shit batman I’m tan! The only thing that has stuck is the bright make-up… sigh, lol. I think it’s funny how I’m giving the full on serious-model-wannabe face with the head tilt. Kind of creepy now that I’m looking at it…. haha.
